Woman, 50, shares three amazing transformations

Nikki told Express.co.uk that she struggled with her weight when she reached menopause, which made her feel mad at herself. Tired of beating herself up to gain weight, she started her weight loss journey by eating healthier and getting more exercise. A few months later, the 50-year-old lost an amazing three stones.

“I tried everything to stabilize my weight and be happy with myself, but nothing worked, and it started to undermine my confidence,” Nikki said, looking back at when she was at her heaviest weight.

“Furthermore, I started to have menopausal symptoms, at which time I didn’t realize it, but this was a major factor contributing to my weight gain.

“I was at my heaviest as I approached my 50th birthday and didn’t want to spoil another big occasion by avoiding the cameras, refusing to participate, or hating myself when I saw the pictures.

“I was constantly getting over myself and lacking confidence in my looks. I went from being happy and open, to finding reasons not to connect with my close friends.”

Nikki knew something had to change when she was invited to her best friend’s wedding, and all she could think of were the photos she had to take on the big day.

She said, “My close friend asked me to be a bridesmaid at her wedding, and while I was over the moon and wanted to support her, I couldn’t help but think how I would look in pictures as I do. Don’t hide from the cameras. At this point I decided to make a change.”

“I saw a friend’s post on Facebook about the amazing results I saw on The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan, so I decided to give it a try.

Nikki started the plan in July of last year and “worked my way through all the summer hurdles that would normally cause me to slip, like drinks with friends and barbecues, but I was very determined to get the results I wanted, so I stuck to the plan rigidly and it was done.” He was rewarded with a two-chamber weight loss in just two months.”

The 50-year-old continued: ‘The support from my advisor Deborah was amazing, it was the constant check-ins and spirited conversations that kept me going when I felt weak – I couldn’t have done without her.

“We decided to book the trip of a lifetime to the Maldives to celebrate my 50th birthday. This was another incentive for me to keep planning, as I wanted to look and feel comfortable in my holiday wardrobe.

“By the time we left for the airport, I had lost nearly three stones and had an amazing new wardrobe, including some pretty bikinis I’d never have worn before I started planning. You made the most wonderful, and even better, memories you have.” Pictures to keep her alive forever.”

“When I started my career, I was very strict – there was no alcohol, nothing passed my lips that wasn’t 1:1 product, veggies, or lean protein. I would even take my food to social gatherings with friends so I wouldn’t do that. Effect on my weight loss.

“Now, I enjoy a night out, making reasonable menu choices where I can cut back on alcohol and get myself back to class the next day – it’s all about balance. My whole mindset has changed, and while I enjoy exotic food, I won’t allow myself to lose control of what I eat. And drink it because I know how good the weight loss it made me feel.”

Nikki went on to say that her mental health has greatly improved since she lost the weight.

“Quite simply, I’m a different person,” she said. “Like most dieters, I’ve struggled with my weight from a very young age and have had mixed success over the years with just about every diet and health plan on the market.

“I knew at 50 it would be hard to lose weight and saw this last attempt at getting the ‘me’ that I loved back.
