Prithvi Shaw makes drastic changes in diet to return to the Indian team

Prithvi Shaw is an extraordinary talent but due to his physical fitness issues and injuries, he hasn’t got a long way on the international level as compared to his peers.

Shaw made his test debut at the age of 18 and smashed a century against the West Indies to declare himself on the biggest stage.

Despite his glamorous start to his international career, Shaw’s chart continued to decline as he faded away from the chart of things from the selectors.

The 22-year-old last played an international match in July 2021 and despite naming several new faces in the Indian squad to keep fresh key players in the big leagues, Shaw failed to get a look.

It is said that one of the main reasons for Shaw’s absence from the Indian team is his fitness issues.

Before the start of the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) there were reports that the Mumbai bat had failed the yo-yo test, but as it was not the main criterion for selecting cricket, this year he played for the Delhi Capitals.

When a team from the second series of the ongoing three-match ODI series against South Africa was named, Shaw’s name was again missing from the team as the selectors picked new faces such as Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rajat Patidar and Rahul Tripathi.

Disappointed after not being selected, Shaw posted a cryptic message on Instagram, targeting the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

“Don’t trust their words, trust their actions, because actions will prove why words are meaningless,” Shaw wrote on his Instagram story.

After attacking the board and the selectors, Shaw, in a recent interview Mid-DayHe opened up about the work he was doing to work on fitness.

Shaw said he lost seven to eight kilograms after the IPL and was working on his religious fitness.

Xu also said he has removed sweets, soft drinks and Chinese food from his menu in an effort to get fit for the Indian team’s comeback.

“I didn’t work out different things on my hit, but I did a lot of fitness work. I worked out to lose weight and dropped seven to eight kilos after my last IPL. I spent a lot of time in the gym, did a lot of running, and didn’t consume any sweets or Cold drinks. Shaw was quoted as saying Mid-Day

The young man also added that he tries to avoid talking to others. He said he’s back in shape and wants to make sure he’s back in the national team.

“I try to be alone and don’t talk much with anyone. I try to be alone in my room. I avoid meeting people. I spend a lot of time in front of the mirror and talk to myself. No one told me to do this, but I am a mentally strong person; they better understand the need to to be mentally strong.”

“I was the same strong person when I was nothing, but now I’m much stronger. I’m back on my level and I’m going to make sure to get back into the Indian national team. I’m determined to do it,” Shaw concluded.
