According to Carwall, an initial examination revealed that more than a third of the strength were overweight, and their BMI was above 25. “After we started exercising, the number (of people who were overweight) dropped to one-fifth,” he said. The number is reduced to zero, with no individuals in the force being overweight.

“Calls for Couples, Customized Diet Plans”

The NDRF leadership has come up with innovative ways to ensure the success of your weight loss workout.

From bringing dietitians and doctors on board, to making calls to spouses of staff asking to “watch” their diet and report if they’re “mistakes,” the Force takes exercise seriously.

NDRF has also joined forces with the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE) in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, to train its staff.

“We assembled expert dietitians and we invite them to give presentations. Doctors were also provided. For Inspector Rajinder Singh, 47, who lost 11kg in just 45 days following a strict diet and exercise routine, the weight loss journey has been challenging.

Cutting back on his favorite foods, giving up alcohol, cold water and tea, switching to smaller meals and no dinner at night, was frustrating at first. But when he started seeing results, especially with his face slimming down and his jaw line showing, he’s now set new goals for himself.

“It was very difficult. But now I can say, it was worth it. I feel more energetic, more confident in uniform and can work longer hours. I wonder why I didn’t care about this before,” he told ThePrint.

He starts his day early, ensures he completes 10,000 steps per day, eats 1 teaspoon of flaxseed, 1 tablespoon of ghee and only drinks hot water during the day.

“I stopped eating at night and only eat salad. Earlier, I used to have 10-12 cups of tea a day, but I have given it up completely now.”

It was the weight loss from his face that propelled Singh even faster towards his goal.

“My face looks thin, and I look younger,” he said with a laugh. “I have lost four inches from my waist. My knee, which used to hurt from the weight, is completely fine and my back pain is much better. Now I have set a goal to reduce another 5 kg by October 30. This is an addiction.”

Chief Constable Vinod Kumar, 44, who weighed 90 kg in May, is now 79 kg.
