The Australian mother of two who constantly felt bloated and tired, dropped 17kg in eight months on a “no diet” diet.
Katherine Wood, from Perth, turned the scales at 88kg and spent years believing her body was “a failure” after she previously tried to lose weight – but apparently nothing worked.
The 33-year-old tried fasting, drinking juices, following the 5:2 diet, and reducing portion sizes, but couldn’t shake off the cravings.
“I didn’t enjoy restriction eating, couldn’t quit my chocolate addiction and the recipes weren’t inspiring!” Kat said.
After she chose to try Health with Bec, she was able to work towards her weight loss goals and change her relationship with food for the better.

“I was nervous to try something new, something I was completely skeptical about because I didn’t want to fail at another ‘something’ because I was already feeling so little self-worth,” she said. My biggest hurdle before joining was wrapping my head around the fact that it was a reduced carb plan – growing up with homemade pasta, bread, rice and potatoes as staples.
“I thought I’d never be able to cut back on my carbs and still enjoy my food or stay full, but I was immediately surprised by how appetizing, big and filling the meals were.”

“For example, replace curry rice with cauliflower rice and eat slender edamame noodles instead of real noodles,” she said.

I eat to nourish my body rather than punish it; I’ve also found that most of my favorite pastime family favorites can be adapted to be more in tune with a low-carb meal, which is great, she said.
“I was eating more than I had before, none of the takeaways felt fatigued, and at no time did I feel like I was on a restrictive diet.”
She would cook meals in bulk and freeze portion sizes on “nights when you didn’t have time to cook.”

“I have a kinder inner voice and my self-esteem has continued to improve!” She said, and she has ambitions to be a role model for her children.
